North Lane Works: a brief history
The French House co-founder, Marcus Hazell, built and managed the large and well regarded London showroom for 20 years. It was a go to source for interesting antiques, salvage and lighting, later encompassing an upholstery and bespoke furniture making workshop supplying restaurants, hotels, and private clients.
In 2022 Marcus and the team moved to York, relocating the workshops and showroom alongside
The French House on North Lane, Huntington
The small team do nearly everything in-house and have multiple skills, including restoration and cabinet making, upholstery, metalwork, fine art and frame restoration
In the showroom you will discover varied and good quality antique furniture and lighting, and, while no particular style or epoch prevail, there is an emphasis on seating, and all handpicked by Marcus.
The workshop builds dining tables from new and reclaimed hardwoods, a variety of benches, and upholstery to commission. Please see our made by page to discover more.
North Lane Works can be accessed through The French House, Monday - Saturday, 10 am to 4pm,
and parking is available on site
